Kensington Private Residence

A full rewire and bespoke lighting design for a magnificent private residence in one of London's most prestigious addresses.

The Project

Commissioned for a magnificent private residence in the heart of Kensington, this project presented some of the most technically demanding lighting challenges we have encountered. The centrepiece of the scheme was a sweeping curved staircase — an architectural statement piece that demanded extraordinary precision to illuminate.

Working closely with the design team, we integrated bespoke LED strip lighting through the circular apertures of each individual riser, creating a rhythmic warm glow that travels the full height of the staircase. A continuous LED channel was also recessed into the underside of the solid timber handrail, tracing its elegant curve from ground to upper floor in a single unbroken line of light. The overhead view of the finished staircase — a spiralling helix of glowing steps — speaks for itself.

Beyond the staircase, the project encompassed a complete rewire of the property, cove and coffer lighting throughout the principal rooms, and a comprehensive lighting control system. Every circuit was designed to complement both the architecture and the client's lifestyle — beautiful, functional, and built to last.
